first, Europe is a continent and you can’t compare the different histories of different European countries with America. Then I don’t think that racism or anti-racism is something like a competition and that country with the first Black president is better or tells anything about the extend of racism. Just as a reminder, the majority of white Americans voted for McCain/Palin and not Obama.
The examples about right-wing (extremism) and racism in sports, there is no denial. The denial is the same like in America.
I also don’t consider challenging racism as lecturing. When for example the EU writes to the US to stop the execution of Troy Davis, for me this is a human rights issue and not lecturing.
