Stuff White People Say

“I and other white people aren’t aware of it; therefore it doesn’t exist.”

Do non-white people tell jokes about white people when white people aren’t watching them? Well, if they do, I would think The Google could find them.

Because all knowledge is on the internet.

Internet Users by Country

Oh no, statistics!

And in the same way that white people assume non-whites don’t have access to the English-language Internet, non-whites assume that whites don’t have access to the English-language internet. (sarcasm)

  1. Did you read which weird conclusion he made about this joke-thing?

    Macon:
Actually, one problem here may be that simply “white” people don’t really exist. If you look closely at any white person, you’ll see that they’re more accurately classifiable as a certain kind of white person–middle class, Midwestern, MILF, New Yorker, rich, jock, soccer mom, hockey mom, blue collar worker, or Joe Sixpack (not to be confused with Joe Camel, who was, you know, a camel–but maybe a white camel?).

  2. in addidition it is this kind of obsession of whites what PoC will think of them, what they do, how they live etc., not out of the desire of understanding, also oneself, but out of control.
This post indicates for me Macon and Co’s control freak issues, thinking about PoC as if you were invaders just coming from Mars. I will never understand sentences like “celebrate our diversity” and at the moment I also think that I will never understand whites (as a collective).

  3. jwbe, I think I’m getting it now. You just don’t understand a lot of what Macon has to say. And then you condemn it, and him, from that lack of understanding. The snatched-from-explanatory-context quote here makes a good point on its own that seems beyond you, a point Macon also made in that post about groups of POC. It’s not weird, it’s insightful.

As for Macon being a control freak, he already admits that being trained to be white has done that to him race-wise (mostly about controlling his own body and emotions and such). But jeez, he’s not a control freak about his blog. Tons of POC go there. Your comment that he sees them as invaders from Mars is like news from Neptune. And just plain weird.

And he’s clearly against merely “celebrating diversity.”

  4. I didn’t say here that he is a control freak about his blog.
And list the “tons of PoC” going there. I also didn’t refer to non-white readers of his blog, but reading is fundamental and as I already have learned, this is an underdeveloped skill with many white Americans, but projecting is highly cultivated. You read what you want and argue based on your assumptions.
